Established an independent city centre betting outlet from opening day in the centre of Bristol. A strong and loyal customer base was built in this time to more than compete with our high street competitors, with a combination of exceptional knowledge, customer service, and aggressive marketing key to this. Due to the size of the company my duties were varied, with risk management and profit margins key components, as was hedging bets and setting customer restrictions where appropriate. I left this role due to desiring career progression to a back office environment, and so decided to finish my travel plans before returning to the UK to settle into a long-term career.

My role was to co-run a highly successful lucrative bookmaking outlet in the UK. Key responsibilities included cash/credit control, customer service, basic accounting, and ensuring the surpassing of profit targets and company standards. It was during this role that I gained an overall understanding of the bookmaking industry, and that I could combine both my passion of sport and a genuine enjoyment of numeracy to form a career. I left this job to broaden my horizons on a period of travelling.
