Also, responsible for checking a resulting Safety Case report covering all HAZAN assessments.* For the Dounreay Shaft and Wet Silo project, responsible for checking consequence calculations for inventories including sealed sources; provided a review of assessment work undertaken to date with future recommendations. Became knowledgeable about Waste Package Specifications for containers proposed for Dounreay Intermediate Level Waste and the IAEA Transport Regulations.* Reviewed an NDA report regarding a framework for assessing land affected by radioactive contamination using a tiered assessment approach. Provided contaminated land transport modelling assessment contributions to the successful Magnox RSRL PBO bid.

Successfully led and delivered this programme using subcontractor support.* Devised biosphere models for an interim 2008 assessment of the LLWR site in West Cumbria. Also for future hypothetical landscape change scenarios relating to the local West Cumbrian coastal environment subject t to sea level change and coastal erosion.* For Magnox (customer), successfully developed a spreadsheet based look-up tables tool (RADCONTAB) for contaminated land in general and at nuclear licensed sites.* Developed spreadsheet assessment tool (ReCLAIM) which allows standard contaminated land scenarios to be assessed and enables soil screening levels to be derived for a given dose constraint and exposure pathways.* Programme Manager (2004-05) for BNFL ALFA (customer) managing project managers on relatively large programmes of work (circa £2.5M per year) relating to Safety and Environmental, and Asset Stewardship disciplines.

Recruited to the BNFL R&D department to undertake and lead biosphere development work for the 2002 Low Level Waste Repository Post Closure Radiological Safety Assessment.* Responsible for the development of biosphere models for the 2002 LLWR PCRSA using FEPs (Features, Events, Processes) and analysis/reporting of the biosphere assessment results. Participated in drafting of high level LLWR PCRSA reports relating to systematic approach and assessment results.* Carried out groundwater assessment calculations associated with the Drigg Operational Safety Case, and Human Intrusion and Disruptive Event calculations associated with the 2002 Drigg PCRSA.* Carried out biosphere and assessment work for environmental aspects of the Sellafield Continued Operations Safety Report.* Task managed biosphere, gaseous discharge, future human actions and disruptive events work for environmental safety assessment of Clifton Marsh waste disposal site.* Have represented BNFL/Nexia Solutions at BIOPROTA, and international forum that deals with biosphere issues associated with radioactive waste disposal and contaminated land.
