I am currently providing commercial management services to Mountain Earth, a relatively new, exciting and dynamic engineering and construction company.My services are focused primarily on assisting in insurance claims, and establishing subcontractors' entitlement, in principle and quantum to variations, claims, extensions of time and loss and expense.

I was brought in to manage a particularly difficult works package; the installation of 312 modular buildings across three high-rise residential blocks in Manchester. Prior to my engagement the subcontractor had amassed a significant extension of time claim, was already culpable for significant further delay. Soon after, the modules suffered from water ingress and various workmanship issues. I was responsible for liaising with the contractors legal consultant and effectively managing and accurately valuing historic claims, extension of time entitlement, concurrent delay, loss and expense, set-off and liquidated damages.After leaving the project for pastures new I was later sought out by the contractor to assist in a couple of adjudications, one pertaining to the effectiveness of a liability clause and pertaining to true value following a 'smash and grab'. I was the commercial lead on an exciting new-build for Alder Hey Children's Charity, a mental health facility under NEC3 with full design. The project entailed one CLT and one steel/timber hybrid frame building atop a concrete podium, all in close proximity to live buildings, a blue light route and a functioning helipad. I spent time as the Lead Surveyor on a £10m extension and refurbishment on a highly sensitive live manufacturing facility at BAE Salmsbury under JCT D&B. In addition to assisting in other BAE schemes I also managed a number of £2m private office and amenity building refurbishments at Exchange Quay, Salford under JCT D&B from pricing, value engineering and negotiating second stage bids through to final account.

I was Lead Surveyor for the NatWest Retail Banking Framework account, leading a small team in managing a number of fast-moving, simultaneous refurbishment projects up to £1.5m in value each.  Responsible for all commercial aspects from surveying, pricing and V.E. to procurement and cost reporting to close out and final accounts. Before heading up the NatWest account I worked on the Barclays Banking Framework, managing circa 15-20 projects a year ranging in value of up to £1m each.
