I was brought on board at Port Otago in a BI reporting SQL role, which involved a large amount of data sanitising and audit activity, developing a reporting data warehouse and delivering reports, analytics and enabling data exploration by the business.I also developed sever applications and mechanisms for users to push data into databases. These were typically Visual Studio front ends on SQL Server back ends, and supported business areas such as labour allocation/rostering and rail bookings.External vendors want to be able to push and pull data real-time in an increasingly digitised world. I developed several mechanisms to validate and load data into third party systems hosted on-prem, as well as systemic alerts to signal to the business users when intervention was required.In addition there was a range of bespoke legacy applications that I helped maintain on life support where needed including VBA, access, crystal reports, vb6 etc.
