I am privileged to support a group of USGS scientists across the US in conducting a diverse portfolio of wildlife-related research to better understand and manage wildlife resources. The wildlife program is part of the Species Management Program in the Ecosystems Mission Area of USGS, whose broad mission is provide the science in support of critical decision-making about species and species habitat.

Patuxent Wildlife Research Center

Deputy Center Director at Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, a federal research facility that is a long-standing leader in the fields of wildlife populations, ecology, disease, and ecotoxicology. Supervising a diverse set of science and support staff to help them accomplish short and long-term goals. The hard-working safety officer, admin team, facilities team, as well as the scientists are all among the most dedicated and hard-working people I've met in my life. All are united in the mission to evaluate the healthy of the nation's wildlife resources, to study effects some of the worst stressors that negatively affect those resources, to study and design what to do in response to threats or changes, and to evaluate the effectiveness of management activities. They work hard on this mission with colleagues on the ground, in other agencies, and fantastic colleagues at other science centers in USGS.
