Provide leadership and supervision in the Accounting Department for a $30 million not-for-profit agency with a staff of 350 operating in 25 locations in Illinois and Iowa. More than 8,000 clients are served annually. Safer Foundation is the nation’s largest community-based provider of services exclusively directed to people with criminal records. Responsible for the recommendation, development and implementation of accounting, financial and purchasing policies, procedures and systems that are in accordance with GAAP and Safer’s mission and policy. Develop and maintain system of checks and balances which will ensure that accounting and finance functions including, but not limited to, payroll, payables, billing, contract financial reporting, collections, and cash management are in accord with good practice, Safer policy, and consistently operate in a way to maximize earning (both earned revenue and portfolio income). Provide direction and supervision of the Accounting Manager, Purchasing Manager, Payroll Bookkeeper and the ATC Business Office Manager.
