• Designed, implemented and tested JSR-168 Portlet user interface providing UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) video search capabilities and presentation of associated telemetry data.• Created a server-side “controller” to handle AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) requests from the adLib client user interface. The controller handles all search requests and data interactions that are requested by the user.• Involved in the redesign and implementation of a media services web application that provided searching capabilities and video manipulation techniques to serve up UAV video clips when provided a video profile and start time. ISO downloads could also be requested for specified video clip.• Designed, implemented and tested a “no install” Java Applet based media player for the adLib product suite that provides a HTTP progressive download and RTP streaming of H.264 and MPEG-2 video content.• Added many improvements to the Java Applet based media player which include MPEG2-TS playback for both progressive download and RTP streaming, RTSP-over-HTTP tunneling to get around firewalls, handling of KLV meta data either as a separate elementary stream over RTP or within a MPEG2-TS container.• Implemented a solution for the Java media player that provides playback of multicast UDP video streams.• Designed and developed a NITF API to read and write NITF 2.1 files. A video snapshot and its associated KLV meta data is saved as a NITF 2.1 file from the Java media player.• Designed and developed a live trick play implementation for the Java media player that provides rewind, fast-forward, and stepping of video during a live RTSP/RTP session.• Successfully worked through many technical challenges while still completing goals for various ISRIS and adLib product releases.

• Designed and developed an access control module for the Intra-governmental Transaction System (IGTS). IGTS is a Web application providing management for orders/billing for the Department of Defense. The access control module is an administration implementation providing management of users and permissions.• Assigned as software lead to the Global Enterprise Exchange (GEX) project used by DISA. This project handles mediation services between business systems and will utilize Web services through the BEA Weblogic development suite.• Assigned as software lead to the PBIS (Program/Budget Information System) project used by the Navy to program and budget decision data through a single web-based interface that provides data query, report generation, and On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) analysis capabilities. I designed this system from the ground up using the latest Java technologies.• Redesigned and developed a new architecture for WebPAT, a web-based version of the Navy’s annual budgeting software. The front end is designed to closely match the graphical user interface of the original application, so JavaScript and Dynamic HTML is used extensively to create a user-friendly environment.• Performed continued maintenance on WinPAT, a Java application used to create the Navy’s annual budget. Work involved maintaining database classes and code that implemented WinPAT’s front-end graphical user interface.• Maintained the Program Development Database (PDD)/Program Development System (PDS). The Marine Corps uses this application as a documentation storage and retrieval system. Converted existing PL/SQL HTML generation routines to Java Servlets.• Involved in the design and development of the Unified Priority List (UPL) web-based application for the Marine Corps. This system is a prioritized “wish list” of under-funded or other emergent items that the Marine Corps would spend additional funding on, if that funding were authorized by Congress.

• Designed and implemented a marketing tool for personnel to easily create marketing campaigns. The front end for this tool was constructed with HTML and Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP). Data was retrieved from an Oracle database using ASP data access objects (DAO).• Designed and developed a content tool that used Java Servlets and HTML to allow game writers to easily update online word games via a web browser.• Help to develop and maintain a back-end game engine for web-based word games. This game engine was developed in Java using Java Servlets and accessed a Unix-based legacy system. Data retrieval was via Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) from an Oracle database.

• Developed user interfaces in X Windows for C4I software that provided services for tracking and identifying ships and planes for the United Kingdom. This information was then graphed onto several plots as designated by the user. All development was done using the C programming language and a 3rd party SDK that provided graphical user interface widgets.• Involved with the design and development of an inventory system to track hardware, software, and a library of reference material using Oracle Web Server to display this application on an Intranet.• Provided software maintenance for existing C4I software.• Involved with the design and development of converting the Navy’s existing annual budget software, to a 32-bit application using the Java programming language.• Helped to develop a web-based version of the Navy’s annual budgeting software using Java Servlets, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, Apache Web Server, and StrongHold Secure Web Server.• Assigned to system administration to upgrade and configure all personal computers and UNIX stations. This involved the replacement and installation of motherboards, memory, hard drives, CPU, video cards, SCSI cards, and network cards.
