Started in sales and quickly moved to management and operations. - As assistant manager worked directly with clients with service issues as well as our sales agents/employees who needed assistance. - Introduced a concept, then developed by our IT team, to sort the large number of incoming issues, allowing management to address each based on priority. This system is still in use. - Involved, early on, in the training program, eventually taking the lead role in organizing training management team and training content.- As Senior Manager of Sales and Service focused mostly on training, building management team and general operations. - Created a team management program. Training and working closely with top sales agents and team managers.- As Director in the Cruise division took on more training responsibilities, sales operations for around 400 sales agents, served as contact for several key vendor accounts, overall management of the growing management team and various projects, as they arose. Every day presented unique challenges and new tasks. - As Senior Director I worked the same duties, with a more expansive responsibility with operations and management oversight.

Began with Continental in Houston working with aircraft ramp operations and cargo. Then, moved inside to airport services. Transferred to the Detroit (DTW) airport and worked as a manager in all phases of airport service, including ramp operations, check-in, back office and gate management. Transferred back to Houston after two years and worked similar position at IAH.

As a young man I was assisted by the youth ministers in my life. In the absence of my father, they helped me find self confidence and maturity. They inspired me to be the best person I could be and use Christian principles in my life. I aspired to help other young people in the same way and spent the first 11 years of my professional life doing this full time. I worked for churches in Columbus, MS; Germantown, TN; Dallas, TX and The Woodlands, TX as a youth programs director. I established Work Camps (a program to get teens involved in serving the elderly and poor in the inner city) in MS and TN; helped grow the same in Dallas and The Woodlands. The camps in TN, Dallas and Houston continue to this day. I ran summer camps and cooperatively managed others each year. I took groups to Honduras and Belize for relief work, conducted many weekend escapes/retreats and lots of ski trips, back-packing expeditions and summer camps over these years, as well. I wrote and presented lessons three or four times each week, with groups of up to 200 per meeting. I was guest speaker for other groups at their retreat weekend events and began honing my speaking and training abilities in these early years. This was an extremely rewarding and fulfilling profession, upon which I look back fondly.
