Machine Operator
CurrentI am responsible for the operation and maintenance of two Stainless Steel Wire Extrusion machines. The wire is purchased from a outside company and shipped in to our location via Semi-Truck. The wire arrives in a raw state which varies in size from .055 to .500 in diameter. The wire is then fed into the machine and through up to six sets of Stainless Steel and Carbide rollers that press and squeeze the wire into a size and shape that has already been determined. The adjustments to the rollers themselves are done completely by hand in order to allow for the utmost control in Quality and Size.Once the wire has been squeezed into it's final shape, it is then cut into predetermined lengths, then it is welded by an Automated Robotic Welder in various configurations. Once the welding process is complete, the finished product is then placed into a basket type formation and sent to various Agricultural industries such as Coal Mines and Rock Quarries. Some of the items being created are of extremely high quality and is used Corn Manufacturing plants and Hospitals.Job duties also involve daily record logs of any maintenance performed, and how much product was produced each day.
