I have been a consulting scientist for over 20 years, applying my scientific and technological knowledge to a diverse array of environmental issues. My projects involve water quality, contaminated sediments, upland cleanups, groundwater, and natural resources. I am also Anchor QEA's practice leader in environmental data management and data services, managing our Data Solutions Group. I develop innovative approaches and provide clear analysis of technical issues to my clients. I have worked with both regulatory authorities and regulated parties in public and private sectors. Along the way, I have enjoyed working in new areas, building productive teams, and providing clear, effective communication to my clients and to stakeholders.I have worked under Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Superfund (CERCLA) regulatory frameworks, applying the best science in areas dealing with water quality and contaminated sediment issues. I also have expertise in environmental data management solutions. As leader of the Data Solutions Group, I manage and direct database and software development projects that provide efficient work flows and high-quality environmental data.Focal points of my projects have included:• water quality and total maximum daily load (TMDL) assessments for phosphorus and for PCBs;• development of environmental data management systems to support environmental monitoring and regulatory compliance programs;• assessment of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) bioaccumulation in fish and aquatic invertebrates;• assessment of PCBs in water, sediments, and precipitation, particularly at low concentrations;• petroleum hydrocarbon contamination• sustainable remediation, evaluating remedial alternatives based on net environmental, social, and economic benefitsLeadership: Project and staff management, data management and software development, team building, strategic planning, marketing and business development, and client management. I have led Anchor QEA's Data Solutions Group for 14 years, with responsibility for the firm's environmental data management practice, stewarding protocols, leading database and applications development, mentoring staff, and marketing data services to clients.
