Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician. This includes documenting the patient medical history and physical exam, procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals, patient education and explanations of risks and benefits, physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and instructions for patient/family members for self-care, and follow-up and preparation of referral letters as directed by the physician. Identify mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation and check to correct the information in order to reduce error. Assist physicians in reaching the highest coding and billing levels and in improving their efficiency and quality of care.

Collaborated with pharmacists to prepare, package, and distribute prescription medication for residents in Long Term Care facilities all over Massachusetts and the greater New England region.

I help students become better writers by helping them to expand on their ideas, identify and correct weaknesses in their writing, and enable students to understand writing as a process.

As an RA, I work with a group of first-year students to foster a supportive, inclusive community on the residence floor. To help students adjust to the academic and social rigors of college, I lead educational programs that highlight the resources available at WPI. Lastly, I provide individual guidance to students, respond to violations of University policy, and respond promptly to maintenance concerns.

Aided in several projects aimed at developing better methods of delivering human mesenchymal stem cells to damaged cardiac tissue. Explored the cross-kingdom connection between the plants and animals by decellularizing spinach leaves, growing and maintaining stem cell cultures, and performing histological analyses.

Collaborated with extensively trained Engineering Ambassadors to develop technical presentations for various K-12 students to execute our mission of helping to develop passionate engineers through the fundamentals of STEM. Presented and lead workshops utilizing effective communication to demonstrate engineering skills to middle and high school students that do not currently have STEM classes within their curriculum.

Conducted research and market analysis to help launch VHL’s biotechnology platform for overcoming metabolic inefficiencies and driving the cellular output of therapeutic products.

Analyzed SARS-CoV-2 proteins to elucidate host-viral protein interactions, develop a computational pipeline for understanding SARS-CoV-2 mutations and their population-level effects, and inform therapeutic drug development.

Fellow in the inaugural, 50-person cohort of The Takeoff Institute Fellowship. Developed a comprehensive business analysis dedicated to Retina-AI Health’s mission of building artificial intelligence to improve healthcare. The extensive research and design thinking involved were impactful experiences that showed me the importance of tapping into one’s network and always being open to learning something new.

Developed negotiation skills through intensive workshops led by scholars from the Harvard Kennedy School of Business, which included 120 hours of training in networking, critical thinking, problem-solving, narrative crafting, and negotiation fundamentals. To put these skills into practice, I collaborated with peers in small group problem-solving exercises and negotiation simulations.

I worked virtually on a team of four undergraduate students to develop the COVID-19 Awareness, Safety, and Education (CASE) guide, a course designed for college students returning to campus amid the COVID-19 pandemic (tiny.cc/CASEtraining). As part of the virtual summer internship, I also engaged in fireside chats and seminars to learn about current biomedical engineering technology, network with leaders in the field, and grow professionally.

Worked with the Product Development group to validate new lateral flow devices. Designed and evaluated prototype devices, prepared samples, completed validation testing and data analysis in support of new products for protein detection.

As a Summer Enrichment Program intern, I had the opportunity to learn about scientific research methods and the field of medicine from healthcare professionals. I also worked on and presented a health disparity project on the "The Prevalence of Asthma Among African Americans as Compared to the General Massachusetts Population." Through the project, I explored different health disparities, researched the factors which affect health equity, and examined the social determinants of health that contribute to disparities.
