I’m Mark Bryan, and after over a decade in teaching, I’m now excited to bring my passion for student engagement into a new role outside the classroom. Throughout my career, I’ve always been focused on creating meaningful connections with students, understanding their individual needs, and helping them thrive. Now, I’m looking forward to applying those same skills in a different setting, where I can continue to support and inspire young people in their personal and academic journeys.During my time at Archbishop Holgate’s School in York, I introduced innovative teaching strategies, including the use of Google Classrooms for assessments, which had a lasting impact on the school. But what truly drove me was the opportunity to help students who felt disconnected from traditional learning. Through creative engagement and tailored support, I helped them find their path, and it’s this student-centred approach that I’m eager to bring to a new role.Leadership and community have always been at the heart of what I do. From chairing staff committees to managing school sports teams, I’ve worked to create positive, collaborative environments that promote both well-being and success. I’m excited to now focus these leadership skills on building programmes and initiatives that foster student engagement beyond the classroom, helping young people achieve their goals in a variety of contexts. What I’m most passionate about is helping students discover their potential, even when the road ahead seems uncertain. My experience with disengaged students has shown me that, with the right guidance and support, everyone can succeed. I’m now looking forward to creating opportunities for students outside the traditional education system, where I can continue to be a champion for their growth and development.Moving forward, I’m eager to take on a new challenge where I can leverage my experience, creativity, and dedication to student engagement in a different environment. Whether it’s through program development, one-on-one support, or community building, I’m excited about the opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ lives in new and meaningful ways.
