Enlisted to fill newly created role in charge of establishing new department for engineering firm specializing in MEP design projects. Preside over inspection services for major construction projects such as recently completed $95M expansion of Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) East Side Water Treatment Plant consisting of four 16MG clearwells; 3.3K ft. of underground concrete flumes; and 3.7K ft. of large bore yard piping, 3 slide gate structures, metering vault, drains, electrical duct banks, valves, and appurtenances. Interface between owners/clients, CEI employees, and contractors to ensure full satisfaction and adherence to work specifications. Monitor jobsite construction activities for safety compliance/violations, collaborate with Construction Manager to schedule tasks, prepare daily progress reports, hold weekly meetings, and mentor interns/junior staff members.• Delivered valuable oversight throughout nearly 6-year DWU East Side Water Treatment Plant expansion, securing contract renewal annually based on performance and successful track record, shepherding project to completion with only one reported accident, and maintaining uninterrupted water production during construction process.• Captured contract with Dallas Area Rapid Transit and cultivated relationships with other design firms that brought additional work to CEI with industry-leading clients such as AECOM.• Formulated partnership with Black and Veatch (B&V) to provide inspection services and pursue new construction management projects with DWU.

Originally hired for senior leadership position with commercial painting and wall covering company; subsequently purchased 50% stake in business and steered day-to-day operations of limited partnership for 6 years before selling interest. Supervised 50–100 Project Superintendents, Estimators, Field Foremen, and crew personnel. Spearheaded marketing and business development activities focused on obtaining large contracts for general construction and high-end interior painting projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area encompassing office buildings, medical facilities, aviation hangars, schools and colleges, banks, churches, and retail and municipal complexes. Directed various functions including quality control/assurance, cost estimation, project management, and business administration.• Boosted company revenue from $4M to $6M per year and recouped investment within 3 years, paying off company purchase price that included all receivables, painting equipment, inventory, office facility, and trucks.• Identified areas of improvement and updated company’s infrastructure to reduce monthly electric costs by 60% and decrease communications expenses by 66%.• Streamlined estimating/bidding process by creating and implementing standardized MS Excel spreadsheet for companywide use.• Procured equipment and internet services that enabled online receipt and in-house printing of bidding documents, significantly lowering related fees.• Maintained and expanded company’s reputation for quality work, achieving high level of client satisfaction and repeat business and opening new avenues for business development via existing customers/contacts.
