About Mark Catron

I am a versatile, patent-holding designer with multiple product launches under my belt. Products I’ve designed span a wide spectrum of industries, including fashion, consumer products, tools, commercial, and medical devices. Over the course of my career, I’ve repeatedly proven my ability to study the needs of the end-user and then translate them into innovative, manufacturable, and successful products. In addition to design, I also work on my family's row crop farm in western Kentucky. This background gives me a unique perspective on design, and has provided exposure to many tasks outside of ID/UX development that make me a more well-rounded problem solver.Specialties:• Leading end-user research via contextual inquiry sessions.• Working within a multidisciplinary team to create the design brief and guide specifications.• Conducting trend research and landscape analysis.• Concept generation through both sketching & renderings.• Concept evaluation through prototyping & focus groups.• Concept refinement through collaboration with engineering & manufacturing.• Concept execution through creation of on-product artwork and instruction manuals.• User Interface development, from concept to final assets.• Oversight of outside firms / vendors, including Asian manufacturers.
