Heading up the Commercial and Customer function of Go South West, part of the Go Ahead Group. Go South West incorporates Plymouth Citybus and Go Cornwall Bus, the largest bus operator in the South West. Employing 850 people across a fleet of over 300 buses, Go South West is currently the holders of the National Transport Award for Bus Operator of the Year.An Investors in People Platinum Organisation, who were also honoured to gain a Queens Award in 2020.A member of the Go South West Board and Leadership Team, specialising in all things customer related and business development.

Heading up a team of 17 people covering all Commercial and Marketing activities within Plymouth Citybus and Go Cornwall Bus.Plymouth Citybus incorporates Go Cornwall Bus and are are owned by Go-Ahead Group, transporting over 18 million passengers a year in Plymouth and its travel to work area, with a turnover in excess of £25m. I am responsible for customer communications, marketing, retail, customer relations, business development, contracts, stakeholder relations, events, public relations, digital, innovation, printed literature, business to business, advertising, strategy and personal development within the team. I currently sit on the board at Plymouth Citybus, planning and developing the company strategy.In 2015/16 I was lucky enough to be one of just twelve to take part of the Go-Ahead Group talent pool, resulting in 12 months of development training, shaping the business leaders of the future. In 2016 Plymouth Citybus won Large Business of the Year at both the Herald Business Awards and Devon Chamber of Commerce Awards, whilst being highly commended at The National Transport Awards for Bus Operator of the Year and shortlisted at the Route One Awards for Large Bus Operator of the Year. Plymouth Citybus have recently been re-awarded Investors in People Gold, sitting within the top 2% awarded in the country. I am an associate for the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a member of Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport.

Plymouth Citybus are owned by Go-Ahead Group and transports over 14 million passengers around Plymouth each year, with a turnover in excess of £20m. Within Plymouth Citybus I cover all aspects of marketing from marketing strategy and budget planning to the finished article. This covers printed literature such as timetables, bus stop information and leaflets to public relations, events management and branding. I also focus on the company’s online marketing strategy, launching the key card project in Plymouth, allowing passengers to buy their bus travel online and more recently mobile ticketing. I am also responsible for website management, social media, e-mail campaigns and sponsorship.I sit on the Leadership Team within Citybus, which includes contributing to the overall future strategy of Plymouth Citybus, Plymouth Citycoach and Plymouth Car & Commercial.Within my time at Citybus I have been nominated to take part in Go-Ahead Groups 'Rising Stars' program. Being one of just 24, out of 23,500 employees, training to be a director of the future.

Head of Commercial on secondment to be project lead for commercial on the acquisition of the Queens Road depot in Manchester, forming Go North West. This included routes, fares, communications, timetables, stakeholder, media and branding.

Plymouth Junior Chamber (PJC) is a special interest group, wholly managed by Plymouth Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI). PJC re-launched in it's new guise in Jan 2014, with myself being invited to sit on the steering group to oversee the marketing and PR aspect of PJC's activity. I was appointed Vice Chair in June 2014 and Chair in October 2014. 2014 has seen the group refresh, opening up access to the whole PCCI member base, with 2015 looking to be even more exciting with events and partnership opportunities.

The PJC aims to provide opportunities to young business people in Plymouth to network, share experiences and have a voice in our city. I help the PJC to achieve that goal by organising events and contributing to the day to day running of the organisation.

Plymouth & South West Co-operative Society merged with The Co-operative Group in September 2009, making the head office function in Plymouth redundant. The Society had over 2200 employees based in over 100 retail outlets, which included both department and convenience stores. The Society in it's last year had an annual turnover in excess of £160m. In my role I managed marketing, brand and business development activity for all sectors of the business, which included re-branding, brochure co-ordination, direct mail, internal and external news letters, radio advertising, POS co-ordination, copy writing, proof checking, briefing design, media selection, market research, competitor analysis, public relations, sales analysis and agency co-ordination. I also deputised for the Brand Manager, running the department.

For my University Internship I worked within the global supply chain of British Energy, the UK’s largest generator of nuclear energy. This included spending time rolling out performance enhancing projects on a corporate level, supply chain risk management, database analysis and supplier research and development.
