About Mark Danielson
With more than 35-years of experience in Broadcast and Digital Media my career has taken me to some of the most respected news organization in the western United States, including KCRA-TV and the KTVB News Group with several stops in-between. As of July 2022, I have come full-circle, returning to Salt Lake City as part of Nexstar Nation and the team at KTVX, KUCW, MTVX and ABC4.com as its VP & GM of media operations. This is a return home to the same team and the same station I worked for back in November of 1990!For 15-years I was a General Manager for News-Press & Gazette, concentrating on building a customer-focused organization while building and growing our business. I lead teams in a very complex business environment - with multiple BIG FOUR network affiliates plus digital and mobile properties with local news and information at its core. In 2012, I relocated to southern California to build NPG's new property in Santa Barbara. Since that time we have grown our business, strengthened core revenue and grown our audiences. NPG of California operates: KEYT (ABC) and (CBS), KKFX (FOX), KSBB (24/7 Local News & Weather plus MyNet) as well as GRIT and BOUNCE across four locations from Ventura, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and San Luis Obispo. Today, our brands are the dominant providers of local news in Santa Barbara County on air, on line and mobile. Our mission: to become the "most indispensable media company up and down the coast, by setting the GOLD STANDARD of excellence in journalism and local programming while building stronger communities and exceeding customer expectations." It is this focus on our communities, our employees and business that has propelled us into the future. In October 2018 we launched the first ATSC 3.0 broadcast on the west coast -- one of only 8 in the country to develop this new technology for our industry.Specialties: Integration of legacy and future media: Combining Traditional Broadcast and Digital Media to build our businesses today and well into the future.
