About Mark Carlson

I'm a bit geeky when it comes to work and personal, yet oddly old-school. Security, businesses continuity, system engineering, farming, counseling, actual fire-fighting, and even lab-based health consulting are my background; and I love finding the big picture and uncovering root causes. Currently serving as the IT Assistant Vice President at SMI, a payment processing company, leading the child support sector.SMI has grown from three U.S. locations in 1999 to 14 in the by 2015, and growing even faster in 2016. What started out as a disparate network of PC computers and a hand-full of servers has grown into multiple data centers with proven performance, security, reliability, and technical innovation. SMI has earned a remarkable reputation in the state government contract sector as a mid-sized business out performing fortune conglomerates. I am proud to be a key part of it's leadership team.
