Volunteer role on General Committee as Director of Communications, heading up the Communications Committee.Directing communications from the Club to the membership; local schools; local, regional & national business; and the Stourbridge Community as a whole.Role includes: Website management; gathering of Club news and creation of e-mail newsletter every week during the season; management of Club branding usage, printed marketing - posters, leaflets, tickets, signage, etc.; management of Club's Social Media channels; creating of Social Media guidelines, working with the Disciplinary Officer to deal with any breaches of the guidelines; training of managers of different sections of the Club in the use of website and social media channels; Club Kit Shop; Archives; presentations to RFU, other governing bodies and potential funding sources; Commercial Development of the Club - amongst other things!

Chalkboards UK designs, manufactures and prints chalkboard products and point-of-sale for the retail, food & drinks, pub, bar & restaurant industries. As a UK manufacturer, we are happy to take on bespoke design work for a specific purpose and we are able to produce finished samples in a fraction of the time it takes to source from the Far East.IT Role at Porter and Woodman Group includes: Design and implementation of online print and graphics database using Google Drive and Sheets - allows access to status of jobs in the workflow and what the finished job should look like to Sales and Production staff whether they are on-site or at contract packing companies; Data Management; website domain management and renewal; SSL Certificate management, Mac network management and maintenance (no outside cost to business of IT support on Mac network); liaising with IT contractors, communications providers, website management companies and domain providers to ensure that problems on e-mail, website delivery or phone systems are dealt with swiftly to limit downtime for the business; design of spreadsheet based component database for the Christmas Hamper UK business - links to costing sheets for individual hamper design for main range and quoting on bespoke gift enquiries.

WoodenBox UK designs, manufactures and prints wooden packaging, rustic crates and retail displays. As a UK manufacturer, we are happy to take on bespoke design work for a specific purpose and we are able to produce finished samples in a fraction of the time it takes to source from the Far East.

Print Services UK is the design and print arm of the Porter and Woodman Group. We supply artwork and marketing services to the rest of the Group across all printed and digital media. This expertise is also supplied to a diverse customer base - delivering marketing campaigns across all media.Print Services - Design; Print Management; Brand Management; Artwork creation and management of workflow for print processes throughout the business.Innovation - adaptation of Epson 9600 large format printer to produce artwork for screen-printing, including the software processes to deliver artwork to the Epson (produces artwork at a fraction of the cost of outsourcing, also created a small revenue stream as other screen-printers use it as a bureau service). Introduction of full colour printing onto wood using heat transfer - created wider print offering to the Corporate Gift customers, including individually personalised gifts and takes overflow work from the screen-print department at busy times.Speciality - Understanding of Publishing Industry requirements in delivering monthly information, promotions and PoS to Independent Newsagents and the general public. Currently manage monthly contracts for a number of Publishing Distribution companies designed to deliver these campaigns as efficiently as possible.

Accountabilities: Head-hunted to introduce Print Services to Porter & Woodman’s offering, diversifying the business and reducing its reliance on the seasonal Corporate Wine and Hamper Gifts business. Role includes day-to-day, responsibility for the design, print and marketing requirements for all other departments, and the design and print management requirements of a portfolio of clients. Achievements: I developed my role from managing Print Services into a more integral role, involved in every aspect of the business. I now direct the development and implementation of marketing strategy for all areas across a range of media - direct mail, targeted mailing, tele-sales, websites, social media and e-mail marketing campaigns. In addition, I have responsibility for identification of potential areas for growth, carrying out general prospecting, and the design and implementation of sales presentations for contract work, introducing two additional revenue streams to the business - Chalkboards UK and WoodenBox UK, that now contribute 50% of the company’s revenue. I also have shared responsibility for IT and administration systems management, recruitment and staff training.

Managed the link between IT, Customer Services, Sales, Studio and Production. Developed new proofing and calibration techniques and managed long-term projects with major clients involving all departments. Designed and delivered major presentations that resulted in winning long-term contracts with nPower, Brintons, Siemens Financial Services, Initial City Link and Cadbury Schweppes. Managed own portfolio of clients and developed new business working alongside the Sales Team.

Similar role to that at GS Print, but in a much smaller and less complex business. No Production facility, pre-press only. Left for the greater challenge of working in a larger production based company.
