About Mark Light
As the 4-H STEM Specialist at North Carolina A&T University, I am passionate about working with youth and helping them develop into adults who can create, innovate, and solve problems with technology. I have over 18 years of experience in 4-H youth development, teaching and developing materials on a state and national level for STEM, maker space, social media, computer science education, and robotics.I hold a PhD in Agriculture and Extension Education from The Ohio State University. I currently serve as an Associate Professor in Youth Development with NCA&T. I have received multiple honors and certifications for my work, including the OSU High Impact Outreach Award and the App Development with Swift Associate from Apple. I am the creator of the National 4-H Clovers CODE program, which has reached over 50 Ohio counties and 7 states, and aims to empower youth to be content creators with technology, not just content consumers. I am also active with Apple Community Education Initiative, Google Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Program, and 4-H Tech Wizards Grants, which provide access to technology and coding education for underserved youth.
