I am the Program(me) Manager for the Organised Crime and Policing (OCP) Team at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI). I currently manage and oversee a portfolio of 12 research and capacity building projects worth over £1 million per year. In addition to all ordinary programme management responsibilities, I conduct research on the intersection between transnational organised crime and illicit financial flows. Prior to joining RUSI, I worked as a Programme Officer with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Regional Office for Eastern Africa (UNODC ROEA), in Nairobi, Kenya. I primarily supported the implementation of regional projects working to combat transnational organised crime, corruption and terrorism within the region.I am a former Masters in Law (LLM) student at King's College London, where I focused on the interaction between transnationalism, human rights and law. My Masters thesis sought to showcase the inadequacy of the Refugee Convention for the protection of Internally Displaced Persons in the Horn of Africa. I am passionate about pushing domestic legal systems to adapt to globalisation and challenge the archaic distinction between private and public law. Away from the office I am a lover of all things sport and struggle to sit still. Kenya will always be my home and I hope to use my experience to support the country's growth in some capacity. I pride myself on taking every opportunity to further inclusivity in all areas of life.
