Whilst I am able to offer skills and experience gained from a wide variety of roles both within the UK and around the world, the key themes that link them all together are my keen interest in the animal kingdom, a passion for learning and developing myself, and finally helping others to do the same. Much of my early career was largely spent in and around academic environments during which time I achieved an undergraduate degree, my PhD, and then later on, a PGCE. I have undertaken research, teaching and animal husbandry roles in a variety of challenging international settings. I have contributed to in-situ conservation projects, managed my own research as well as supervised student projects, constructed reports and contributed to publication manuscript preparation. Following training as a high school science teacher I have a strong understanding of teaching pedagogy and practice which has provided many rewarding opportunities to pass on much that I have learned. I have delivered teaching sessions within classroom settings, as well as practical activity sessions, and talks for students up to UG level, interns and colleagues in many cases using my own engaging and informative teaching resources. Most recently I have worked in the veterinary sector as a receptionist and administrative assistant within a corporate owned practice before advancing into my current role as the practice manager of a thriving new independent practice.
