Mark worked within the Projects Group of HSH to assess, improve and implement the necessary governance systems and processes to facilitate the successful delivery of concurrent hotel development projects in Yangon (on-hold), Istanbul and London. Mark was Project Director responsible for delivery of the full upgrade of this Hong Kong tourism icon. Managing multiple delivery streams in Hong Kong and Europe, to provide a much-needed capacity upgrade of the funicular railway, tramcars, haulage equipment, control systems and stations. Mark managed multiple stakeholders across government, geographic and functional sectors including District Councils and LegCo, and he lead the multidisciplinary design teams to coordinate and integrate these unique building works with legacy land issues, state-of-the-art funicular systems and a bespoke design for the new Peak Tram, all of which required extensive government consultation and approvals.The Peak Tram has proudly served Hong Kong for over 130 years. It was Hong Kong’s most visited attraction, and pre-COVID patronage continued to grow every year. High demand for the Peak Tram led to long queues, with waiting times reaching two hours during peak season.
