Following the Government’s extension to the free childcare and education entitlement, I was employed to plan, develop and implement strategies to manage the current and future early years and childcare market for the 40% most disadvantaged 2 year olds. Within 12 months, I guided the authority from ‘failing’ to the top performing in our statistical neighbour group, second in the south east region and top ten nationally. For this achievement, I was named Buckinghamshire Ciunty Council’s Employee of the Year.

I predominantly dealt with more challenging and complex issues, for example, inadequate providers and those at risk of closure due to financial concerns.I also provided in depth support and training on a range of topics relevant to the early years and childcare sector, mainly focused on the Ofsted Inspection Framework, running a sustainable business and the delivery of high quality early education to children.
