Mark Grinnell is the Executive Lead, BBC Nations.Mark leads on governance and supporting strategic planning for the Office of the Director, Nations as well as the relationship with the office of the Director General and BBC Board and other Senior Leaders and political and industry stakeholders outside the BBC.As an Editorial leader, Mark has held roles as Regional Head of BBC Local in the South, South West and South East of England. As a TV and Radio Editor, he has managed some of the BBC’s most successful local brands, including Radio Devon, Spotlight and Radio Cornwall. Before the BBC, Mark held leadership roles in some of the biggest commercial media companies, including ITN and Global Radio. He has managed teams across the country on high profile brands including Heart and Capital Radio. His work developing a new generation of leadership talent in commercial media won a National Training Award. As a BBC Executive Coach, he is one of an elite group helping leaders to reach their potential. Mark has recently been awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Strategic Leadership with Cranfield University.Mark began his career as a travel reporter, news anchor, producer, editor and presenter on brands including ITV, Plymouth Sound and LBC/NewsDirect.
