Currently a JD Candidate at UC Davis School of Law in Davis, California. Highlights include being named a 2023 Intraschool Negotiation Competition Winner, a 1L Negotiation Competition Winner, a Reynoso Academic Achievement Award recipient (Second highest grade in Contracts, Fall 2022), a member of Law Review for the 2023-2025 school years, and a recipient of the Academic Excellence Scholarship. Additionally, I participated in Mock Trial and Moot Court my first year of Law School. I also served as a student academic tutor during my second and third years at Davis. For 2L, I tutored under Professor Kathleen Morris in her 1L Torts class, and for 3L I am tutoring under Professor John Hunt in his 1L Contracts class. My Law School note, "This is Howey Do IT: Updating the Howey Test for the Digital Age" focuses on Federal Securities Law as applied to cryptocurrencies. In it, I argue for a slight expansion of the "derived from the efforts of others" prong of The Howey Test, to better effectuate the underlying goals of Federal Securities Law. Before law school, I was employed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture Produce Safety Program as an Environmental Scientist. My work focused on commercial fruit and vegetable farm inspections for compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act. Prior to the state, I worked as an Environmental Consultant for about three years immediately following my undergraduate studies. Work was focused on Environmental Site Assessments of commercial properties. Sites included gas stations, dry cleaners, SUPERFUND sites, multi-family properties, etc.
