About Markisha Deville

Intense Case Manager
In the Supportive Assistance Program for Individuals and Families, I have a caseload of participants that I provided case management services. Participants have to be assessed for barriers and challenges. Individualized Service Plans are created to achieve success over the barriers by setting realistic goals with realistic time limits to achieve goals. Develop a rapport with individuals to ensure a positive working relationship with program participants. SAIF is a time limit program and contracted through the Essex County Department of Welfare General Assistance Program. DAP (Data, Assessment and Planning) notes are created to document participants success and for quality assurance. Maintain and updated file on each participant. Participants received assistance with obtaining employment as a step towards achieving economic self-sufficiency.
Program Coordinator
As Program Coordinator of the Financial Aid Program, I hosted presentations at high schools, churches and non-profit organizations with high school students and their parents informing them of the different ways to pay for college. I also assisted students and their parents with the Financial Aid Application process. Partnered and connected the guidance counselors in high schools in the community to set up days (FAFSA Days) where students could take advantage of filling out the applications at school. This program is in partnership with the College Assistance Program and VITA Program.As the Program Coordinator of the Newark Early Childhood Nutrition Programs for infants and children, the position involved extensive record keeping, organizing, problem solving and time management. It also involved complex regulations, data, managing, planning, implementing and evaluating Strength based interaction and communication with children, staff, parents and the larger community was also required (but come naturally for some). Obtained informed signed parental consent for nutritional services provided to parents by the program or community partner hosting the program. Organized outreach events including marketing, sales and planning related activities to assist in promoting services and receiving donations. Traveled to meet with community partners, churches, businesses and other organizations to promote employer. Organizing and participated in special outreach events. Serve as spokesperson for the organization at meetings and media events. Responsible for developing and implementing program outreach plan and marketing activities, campaigns, and strategies to promote organization programs. This can be done through a combination of personal contacts, brochures, mass mailings, public presentations, special events, the Internet, etc. Establish and maintain effective relationships with local, state, federal agencies and other community partners.
Training And Technical Assistant
Provided all training and technical assistance needs to assigned Family Success Centers. Attended weekly supervisions, meetings, trainings as required and as needed. Regional Coordinator maintained ongoing contact with Family Success Centers, providing assistance, troubleshooting in center development, staff development and community development. Developed and implemented training programs, assessments, statewide conferences and center plans to ensure quality and continuous improvements of the programs. Coordinate and facilitate monthly networking meetings for a group of 25 – 30 Family Success Center staff. Prepared monthly activity reports and entered monthly records into database system. Facilitating and co-facilitating leadership board meetings and trainings for new staff workers on strength based ways of working with families, building parent leaders, cultural diversity/reciprocity, advocacy and systems navigation
