ICARD carries out public service on behalf of EMU through economic and workforce development,Geographic Information Systems (GIS), groundwater resources and education, Management Information Systems (MIS) and public service education. As the GIS specialist for the institute, I was responsible for several different projects including the gypsy moth suppression project which involved creating polygon representations in AutoCAD of the spraying patterns that were ultimately uploaded into the software on the airplanes used for distributing the pesticide.I was also the IT guy on staff and performed several network upgrades, rewired a learning lab with new networking connections, administered the local Banyan email system and debugged various problems/systems.
