Appointed Judge of Best Use of Certified Timber Prize as the International Architect Representative of Geneva-based PEFC, recognizing the importance of certified and sustainable timber in international best practice Architecture projects. I chaired the International Jury at the final WAF judging where entrants present their projects to a live judging session. In 2018 and 2019, I presented the prize at the Gala Dinner at the iconic Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam. Due to Covid, the judging was conducted virtually and in 2022 the Awards, were held live again in Lisbon Portugal. In 2022, I was invited to judge in the additional prize category of "Completed Buildings - Production, Energy and Logistics" at Singapore and since that time, have continued to judge that category yearly.

Presented to 2018 PEFC General Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland and facilitated "Issues in Depth" Workshop sharing Australian Innovation in Engineered Timber . Assist in CPD presentations and the promotion of timber from certified sources .

As President, I successfully refocused the organisation's activities towards Positive Development, Resilience and Liveability outcomes to grow membership and increase professional Development activities. I facilitated 3 successful Australian Road shows with international speakers and initiated a Public talk series at QUT to promote sustainable development . At the AGM in November 2017 I was awarded the Award for Excellence for 10 years of examplary service as President of the AGDF

I publicly demonstrated Schiavello's extensive environmental program via published articles ,presentations at industry conferences and involvement in professional forums.As Schiavello's Environmental Thought Leader,I introduced Positive Development concepts and conducted environmental training around Australia.I facilitated 3rd party product certification to over 30 product ranges and wrote the successful submission for Schiavello's 2010 finalist,National BPN Sustainability Award-Innovation of the Year -E cycle program.

A specialist sustainability consultancy offering expertise in green rating systems,education and training.Mark was the GSAP for multiple greenstar,office design, public building, interior and industrial best practice, Australian Best Practice and World excellence projects in SEQ , A notable highlight was achieving the then, highest greenstar score for a 6 star building,the JCC Project (Dandiiri Centre) ,the first Queensland Government Office Design v2 Greenstar project.

As founder of TVS interiors ,I successfully developed the commercial interior business and proactively managed major refurbishment and fit out projects. I championed the Practice's environmental focus,gaining architectural awards and government commissions for exemplary built projects.As a Partnership Director , I managed business development activities and contributed to TVS's Australian Quality Award and recognized Total Quality Management practices.

Mark was one of the 3 appointed QUT Adjunct Professors to support the Centre for Sub Tropical Design. He oversaw research on Living Walls and the vegetation benefits to Urban Heat Island effects in Cities. As part of the Management Board, Mark assisted in the program development of the Centre and contributed to design charettes, workshops, lectures and Forums associated with the Centre.

Coinciding with the growing interests in green buildings and developments ,this committee was formed to co-ordinate activities and report to PCA Council and members. An significant outcome championed by Mark was the Sustainable Apartment demonstration in Brisbane's King George Square for World Environment Day celebrations.A full sized apartment transported in relocatable buildings was built , displayed and then donated to a charity, ensuring the project met strict environmental objectives in material efficiency and recycling.
