My role on the advisory board of Australia’s first industry-comprised real estate venture capital fund, PieLab, allows me to stay at the forefront of #PropTech and industry trends, contributing to the continuous evolution of the real estate sector. This position enables me to influence and drive forward-thinking innovations that shape the future of real estate. We started local and with a basically minimalist marketing budget, but set the business up planning for major growth. We learned a lot about trademarking, target markets and the importance of social media. Despite having a successful online and social media funnel, it was apparent that the business was still fairly time consuming, unless we were prepared to invest large sums into outsourcing.In this case that didn't really fit our plans.In late 2012, our designer and partner moved overseas and didn't have the time to continue with us on the journey. Knowing we it would be hard to find a replacement as passionate and skillful as her, we decided to wind up the company and focus on our core businesses.
