Providing daily spiritual care to residents, their loved ones, and staff on one of three Care Center floors at Woodlake Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and Woodlake Residences in New Hope, Minnesota, including long-term care, memory care, and palliative care.Assisting other staff chaplains with regular spiritual care on other Care Center floors, including transitional care, and occasionally also providing spiritual care to tenants in Independent and Assisted Living.Preparing and presenting faith-based group programming, including ecumenical worship services, in collaboration with other staff.Facilitating some of four weekly Masses for Care Center residents and AL and IL tenants, and other Catholic sacramental ministry, in collaboration with our Liturgical Coordinator, visiting priests, Eucharistic ministers, and others.Conducting spiritual assessments of, and writing and revising care plans for, each resident on my floor at least quarterly, and other Care Center residents occasionally.Communicating and collaborating constantly with colleagues from other disciplines such as Nursing, Community Life, and Social Work to coordinate our care.Inviting and assisting Care Center residents to and from faith-based and Community Life programming.

Covering some overnight on-call shifts for all of United Hospital in downtown Saint Paul (including pages to emergency department, birth center, cardiac units, oncology units, neuro units, rehab units, and mental health units).

Visiting patients and their loved ones at United Hospital in downtown Saint Paul by request or consult and for follow-up or length of stay.Bearing primary responsibility for daily spiritual care of patients, their loved ones, and staff on four units / floors (observation unit, mostly post-surgical unit, mostly spine floor, and mostly orthopedic floor).Sharing almost all daytime and overnight on-call hours for all of United Hospital with three fellow residents (including pages to codes, emergency department, birth center, cardiac units, oncology units, neuro units, rehab units, and mental health units).Facilitating spiritual care of patients, loved ones, and staff of traditions not my own (including contacting rabbis and imams, coordinating with engineering department for Native American smudgings, and so on).Backing up United Hospital Palliative Care team chaplain Bruce Ruggles.Learning from regular didactic presentations, sometimes together with residents from Allina's Abbott Northwestern Hospital.Presenting verbatims and other written work in our group of four residents and offering feedback on the presentations of others.Meeting weekly for individual supervision from CPE educators Mark Mallinger, then Shawn Mai, then Allen Dundek.Meeting weekly for clinical coordination from staff chaplains Crystal Vogt, then Abbie Engelstad.Shadowing other providers in various departments.

Providing excellent, caring, service to customers at cash wrap and customer service desk, connecting them with enriching and enjoyable books, media, games, toys, gifts, and other items.

Supporting spiritual and intellectual growth of students, faculty, staff and library guests.Coordinating St. Paul seminary library circulation desk and lending and organizing materials.Coordinating all ILL for St. Paul and San Diego seminary libraries (including MNLINK).Hiring, training and supervising undergraduate student employees.Assisting with collection management and other Material Services tasks and projects.

Supporting spiritual and intellectual growth of students, faculty, staff and library guests.Coordinating all ILL for St. Paul, San Diego and Seminary of the East seminary libraries (including MNLINK).Serving patrons from the St. Paul seminary library circulation desk.Assisting with Material Services tasks and projects.

Contributing as needed in Public Services and Material Services at the St. Paul seminary library.

Teaching English classes to university students, planning and staffing summer English Camps, and contributing in other ways to the Studenti pro Krista campus ministry in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Contributing in payroll, accounts payable and receivable, etc.

Connecting customers with edifying and enjoyable written and recorded resources and other products.
