About Mark Thibault
Experienced software engineer with a demonstrated history of working in multiple areas of the code base. From app setup to build processes and pipeline to just adding some new features and testing, I am always focused on the longevity of my work. Is this new feature going to cause a road block for our users in another place? Is this code readable enough so that myself or another engineer will understand it in a couple months? Can others in the organization benefit from this research I did and how can I get the word out? These are the types of things I think about on a daily basis and I have been told, separate me from others.
Listed skills include Css, Javascript, Html5, Adobe Creative Suite, and 45 others.

Software Engineer
Senior Software Engineer
Since being hired on as a full time employee at Nike, I have played an instrumental role in maintaining and hardening the Nike By You (formerly NIKEiD) shoe customization experience code base and helped expand the observability, release process, and a feature set.2018-2019Over the last year, my team has been focused on replacing legacy services with microservices built in Java and deployed to AWS. Over that time I took the lead on implementing New Relic client side event tracking so that we could monitor changes as we started to port to the new service endpoints, as well as track the adoption of our releases. Alongside New Relic, I also lead the adoption of Optimizely feature flags to control our streams of data in a systematic way with zero net consumer impact to date. Optimizely also unlocked the ability to conduct A/B tests which will be heavily used as we start to close on the service migration. In the Fall of 2018, I was also selected to work on an experimental team on a stretch project. This long term proof of concept for a major 3D visualization enhancement to our customization experience.2019-2021During this time I help grow a team and release a 3D module to replace a 2D slide show. We did so methodically as to not disrupt sales but to also learn and shift as we went. This was achieved by working closely with the 3D artist to capture their needs, releasing behind feature flags and A/B tests, and to take on the data conversion so other engineering teams could continue meeting their goals with little impact from our changes. After launching several 3D experiences in 2019, 2020/2021 was all about operationalizing the process and increasing performance for users. We worked closely with sibling teams to add support to an internal app so that operation team members had the ability to set up 3D products without the help of engineering and we partnered with the experience team to ensure the 3D renderer would work in the new experience they were building.
Senior Application Engineer
I worked as a contractor with the NikeID team. During my year as a contractor I was a major contributor to many enhancements to the current Shoe Customization Experience including a major image quality boost and better functional animations for customization selections seen on Nike.com and in Nike's Apps. I also played a major role in the development and release of a new jersey customization UI made for the 2018 soccer season.
Senior Front End Software Engineer
Previously, I built features for a new product spread across multiple portals.Currently working as the only Front End Engineer on two teams creating new web applications to replace pieces of legacy software. Establishing a good front end architecture in the applications, as well as in custom npm components, has been key to preventing the need of copying and pasting shared code.Teaching peers: - one on one peer coding - group training sessions - documentationFront end architecture: - npm build steps for local development and production build agent - bundling and processing with webpack - setting up testing that runs locally and on build agents - custom built npm Angular components and services that are hosted internally - converting JavaScript to Typescript - setting up files and folders structure - establishing conventions and patternsWorking on multiple teams: - managing time and constantly adjusting priorities for what best suits both teams - constant context switching in both conversations and code - being present in all meetings - setting up timeline for shared component building and implementation
