As a reporter I had to think creatively each week to come up with feature story ideas while also using my skills as a journalist to cover “hard” sports news. I was a one-man-band shooting and editing my own stories. I also produced and hosted the Murray State Basketball Show which involved a great deal of organization and planning because it was a weekly show and I was responsible for everything from securing video of the Racers’ games each week to hosting the show. I also created and launched the first Sunday night sports extra show in the market, and I managed the sports page of our station’s website.
