Who is Marko Matosic?I am an undergraduate student at Victoria University studying the Bachelor of Science (Osteopathy). I have a huge passion for sport and although the dream of becoming my boyhood dream of a professional soccer player is far gone, I have switched my focus to science behind sport and exercise.EducationIn 2016 I completed a Diploma in Mass Media and Communications at La Trobe University. The course allowed me to develop effective communication skills through technology (e.g emails) and interacting with others face-to-face. This has proven to be a valuable attribute for me and is a key to my success in my occupation. In 2020 I graduated in the Bachelor of Sport Science (Exercise Science) at Victoria University. The course helped me develop a foundation in understanding the anatomy, as well as the functional movement of the body and how it applies to sport and exercise.OccupationIn 2013 I was hired at Rebel Sport as a sales assistant and remain there to the present day. Working in retail has allowed me to further enhance my communication skills, whilst also developing effective team working, problem solving and leadership skills. From 2017 - 2018 I also completed a voluntary coaching role for under 11's and under 12's in soccer. In 2019 I completed 140 hours of work experience as a personal training/strength and conditioning coach at GERONS Performance Academy which helped me develop the skills to work with other trainers, and also train/coach a wide variety of clients. The reason to my personal growth is displaying great enthusiasm in whatever it is I choose to contribute in. I enjoy working and communicating with a team of people whether it be for work, class projects, my soccer team etc. However, the feeling of challenging myself and seeking discomfort is an attribute I pride myself in to expand my knowledge, skills and capabilities.
