At Edify I contributed audio and front end development for MusiQuest, a music composition and sequencing app.- Increased the precision of the audio sequencer’s real-time playback using lower level C++.- Refactored Edify’s sampler envelopes for better sound and performance.- Implemented pitch and envelope detection to convert melodies to MIDI sequences.- Implemented onset detection to remove silence from recorded samples, so that user created drum samples would play in time.- Created MIDI and audio exporting tools so that users can work on their songs in other software tools and share their songs.- Created compelling and responsive user interfaces and animations.

I contributed iOS and firmware development for our Bluetooth motion sensor the MAPR. The research group uses the MAPR for amputee gait rehabilitation through auditory feedback.- Created tools for connecting to and identifying 5 bluetooth peripherals.- Stress tested the iOS bluetooth environment to find the limits of the system.- Demonstrated substantial Bluetooth knowledge by communicating with the iOS team on the capabilities of the system.- Debugged SPI communication between our microchip and various sensors using a logic analyzer.- Communicated with our international partner Ossur to transfer data from their RHEO knee to the MAPR.My thesis was conducted and funded through the FORE Center. The research included conducting auditory Fitts testing of motion MIDI controllers potentiometer and to determine if one is more efficient than the other.- Transformed Fitts’ visual HCI device test to an auditory test.- Generated quaternion data by using an open source API for converting 3-axis motion- Developed an OS X MIDI broadcasting application to conduct the testing and collect data on the participants.- Debugged OS X connection issues with Apple’s Packet Logger.- Conducted testing with ~10 individuals and used statistical analysis to show that the MAPR can be used more efficiently for audio applications.

At Thuneau I spearheaded the development of a novel loudspeaker crossover VST plug-in. The plug-in is capable of managing data across several VST instances. This allows the user to manage multiple instances of the plug-in from a single window.- Implemented FIR and FRD filter importing to allow users to adjust the crossover according to their room's response. - Researched and implemented FFT visualization techniques to display the data as accurately as possible.- Integrated the DSPFilters library for filter display and audio manipulation.- Implemented oversampling up to 96 kHz to decrease digital aliasing.- Developed while being a full-time student at the University of Miami
