    Engaged as a technical architect to fulfil a strategic vision, we completely transformed Acino’s IT landscape. The project goal was to build a GxP compliant framework to support applications running on Azure cloud-service and enable the movement of any suitable workload to Azure IaaS and PaaS using a variety of tools including ASR.The successful completion allows Acino to adopt a ‘cloud first’ strategy. During the course of the project we;• Assessed and made recommendations affecting Azure Network Connectivity and Security• Conducted a Risk Assessment from a GxP perspective • Developed a set of common standards in strict accordance with legal requirements such as FDA 21 CFR Part 211 and Part 11, EU GMP and GAMP 5 guidelines• Engineered and deployed all infrastructure components that allow the movement of applications and servers between on-prem datacentres and cloud based servers• Provided all project planning and CSV documentation.

    Following an initial assement of the IT landscape there was a clear need to plan a substantial reduction in the number of servers and applications running in Swiss and German datacentres. The bloat was triggered by successive business acquisitions and mergers.On successful project completion, we managed to reduce the server count by 48% saving €728k per year. This was achieved through:• Consolidation of multiple LIMS environments• Consolidation of multiple CDS environments• Citrix server & application rationalisationDuring the course of the project we• Raised all appropriate CSV documentation• Created and executed an application rationalisation plan• Performed a domain consolidation spanning 3 countries (Deutschland, Switzerland and Ukraine)

Citrix XenApp was configured to provide end user access through a variety of client devices. Assisted with the validation aspect of all IQ, OQ, and PQ activities. This included formulating the relevant design and qualification documentation and evidential tests.

    Following the divestiture of Proctor & Gamble’s pharmaceutical business to Warner Chilcott, I designed, managed and implemented an accelerated deployment of approx 2500 desktops and performed the migration from Novell eDirectory to Active Directory. I was personally responsible for the server and desktop migration in 11 countries (including sales offices and manufacturing plants). The project took 8 months from beginning to end and also included a separate sales force rollout.As the Lead Technical Architect and final escalation point, I was responsible for global; hardware selection (desktops, laptops, tablets, servers and storage), designing the rollout strategy for all desktops and laptops; performing the data migration from Novell file servers; and ensuring that P&G applications were successfully migrated to Warner Chilcott.Nearing the end of this project we also performed a separate rollout for home based sales force employees. This was a swap and replace rollout whereby the user state was migrated (along with P&G specific applications) at various sales events during a four week period outside the WC and P&G networksDespite this addition of nearly 800 sales force tablets, we were able to finish the project one month ahead of our deadline and used the remaining time to perform skills transfers to country specific support teams.

    Working with BT Professional Services, I was responsible for the implementation of a new Exchange organization for one of their large public sector clients (South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust). During the project I deployed three Exchange clusters (two sites, three data center's); SCCM 2007: 1 primary site server and 12 secondary site servers, 12 AppV streaming servers and 12 domain controllers for branch offices.The engagement continued with a number of RAID migrations on existing application servers and low level troubleshooting on complex SCCM task sequences (O/S deployment and Novell Client removal).
