I am currently in my fourth year of Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering at Ontario Tech University. I am currently working on my capstone project that involves designing a single stage inverter for photovoltaic applications. I am doing the circuit design and simulation using Power Sim. I have also been working with MATLAB to design control systems and solve digital communication problems through signal generation and error analysis. While working towards becoming and Engineer, I worked as a Team leader at Proctor and Gamble for 6 years following another 6 years as a technician before my leadership role. I lead a team of 8 people operating a manufacturing process performing everything from regular maintenance to breakdown analysis. As a technician I became proficient working with the electrical and control systems within our operating equipment. This included using RSLogix and RSlinx to communicate, control and modify PLC programs while running and during downtime, working with Fanuc M2000 and R2000 robots and controllers, monitoring processes with Historian client and Wonderware HMI’s. I also spend time as a volunteering as a firefighter for the town in which I live. This involves training new firefighters, responding to emergency situations at all times of day, maintenance activities at the fire hall, and community service such as fire safety training at local schools. I have become one of the senior Captains on the department and find that I am responsible for specific training and taking command of emergency scenes when necessary.
