Hi, I'm Mark Ross. I am the Public Information Officer handling strategic communications counseling and media relations for the second-largest City of Portland bureau. This comes after a long career as a television news and sports reporter/anchor. I counsel senior City leadership and elected officials on communications strategies, plans, and content; do video production, and manage multiple government social media.I'm fluent in Spanish, and possess a rare combination of expertise and versatility. I am an expert in knowing what the media looks for when it searches for stories; and the connections to further the goals of putting Portland Parks & Recreation constantly in front of editors, assignment managers, and others who facilitate coverage. I am proficient and polished in presentation skills, as well as written and verbal communications. I also have experience creating and implementing public relations campaigns, video producing, writing, field producing and facilitating long-form documentaries.
