Supported administration of releases from Fair Trade Services by securing mechanical licenses and adding the projects to Record Maestro.

Thousands of licenses issued through permissions granted by our company for songs written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney; Hank Williams, and Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller that have appeared on albums that range from The Beatles and Elvis Presley to Michael Jackson and Prince. Close to 100% of royalties have been recovered through fully executed licenses with Warner Brothers, Atlantic, Universal Music Group, and assorted independent labels. I received a Gold Record for assistance to Mercury Records/MCA in their release of the Julie Roberts debut album in 2004. Asked to talk about mechanical licensing in Louisville, Kentucky at VinylFest Vinyl Record Celebration in a presentation called “Before the Needle Drops: Understanding the Process of Licensing Songs for Your Album" in June of 2013.

Was responsible for song clearance and licensing for several products release by imprint labels of EMICMG for artists such as The Blind Boys of Alabama, Out of Eden, Audio Adrenaline, Donald Lawrence, Smokie Norful, and others. The majority of these albums went on to win Grammy Awards, Dove Awards, and had Gold Record sales. The Licensing department was presented with a Gold Record for its work on the SONGS 4 WORSHIP album project. My negotiations for song placements in many Chordant sampler projects allowed for a greater reach to the label's target audience by marketing affordable product to to the CBA and mainstream markets. Licenses for EMICMG’s master recordings were requested by Thomas Nelson Publishing and Big Idea Entertainment’s VEGGIE TALES series as well as several churches throughout the world.

Worked as Copyright Administrator for a company that handled over 10,000 songs in well over 100 catalogues with writers like Paul Overstreet, Dennis Morgan, Tracy Lawrence, Donnie McClurkin, Billy Strange, and the production catalogue for Dick Clark Productions. Promoted to Manager of Copyright Administration in 1995 and oversaw the copyright department and staffing of new employees and interns for the department as well as interacted with the heads of Royalty Accounting and Licensing to increase song usage and royalty payments to our writers and publishers. Appointed interim Operations Manager in 1998. Selected to be a speaker at Appalachian State University's Music Education and Music Merchandising program in March of that year. Also oversaw two company moves, interdepartmental staffing, and an increasing number of songwriters and publisher affiliations through connections with Christy DiNapoli, manager of Little Big Town and Doug Grau, producer for Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy, and The Blue Collar Comedy Tour Live.

After working as a clerk handling sales and giving quality service to all customers, I was promoted to a 3rd Key position. In that role, I handled various managerial functions in connection with sales and transactions on the sales floor. I was promoted to assistant manager in less than a year and transferred to a larger store that generated over a million dollars in sales a year. I was responsible for opening and closing, inventory, loss prevention, merchandising, setting sales, and getting add-on sales for each purchase. In 1990, I was promoted to store manager, which added the responsibilities creating schedules, interviewing potential clerks, processing paperwork on new hires, purchasing wholesale product to supplement hot product that would be out of stock or to get product that did not fit our product profile but would sell in the store. The store maintained good sales during my time as manager and the employees won several contests for suggestive selling and display creation.
