As an undergraduate researcher, he helped engineer a gene that codes for two proteins binded together to make it possible to visualize the protein's interactions in vivo within mammalian cells. He presented his research findings at the North Carolina Undergraduate Research symposium in the fall of 2012. He has served in the United States Army reserves for 7 years where at the Defense Language Institute he learned Arabic.He currently works for Bayer CropScience where he analyzes products for residues by performing LC and Tandem MS/MS analyses.
