I Head the International Development Assurance Services team at RSM UK, working with a talented and driven team who deliver fantastic assurance work for our clients. With a particular focus on supply chain due diligence, internal audit, investigations into fraud and corruption, public finance management and associated training we work with a wide range of donors and clients in the international development/internationally active public-sector environment across Africa, Asia and eastern Europe.I have over 20 years’ progressive experience of risk, due diligence and audit and for more than 17 years’ I have led a wide range of assurance assignments including high profile sensitive investigations into international fraud and abuse. This has included investigations such as the Malawi Cashgate scandal, more information can be found here https://www.gov.uk/government/news/audit-report-on-fraud-and-mismanagement-in-MalawiI have extensive experience of the implication of control failure and regularly work with Auditor Generals, Law Enforcement Agencies and others to deliver sensible pragmatic solutions in challenging environments.My clients include international publicly active bodies including National Governments, United Nations bodies and INGO organisations where I act/have acted as Head of Audit or interim Inspector General I have particular experience of International Tribunals including Lebanon and Bosnia Herzegovina.As an expert in this space it means I have worked in a host of locations, including working on internal audit capacity building programmes for Government departments and state-owned enterprises in Poland, Romania, Turkey, Ghana, Nigeria and Malaysia.I have a real passion for giving back to the Internal Audit profession and am delighted to have as a council director of the CIIA UK and Ireland for six years. I remain active in the local committee, I am a volunteer member of the Global Institute Relations Committee and former Global Advocacy Committee member of the IIA Global where we work to promote the profession.
