I recently started work in the Test & Evaluation Department at Textron Systems: Unmanned Systems. The department develops procedures for testing the Shadow TUAS and its supporting systems.

I assisted the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Department with grading papers and proctoring exams while working on my thesis research. My research focus was in the aeroelastic stability of rectangular plates under certain loads and boundary conditions. I presented my research at the 17th National Congress on Theoretical & Applied Mechanics in June of 2014. My thesis will be published online in the summer of 2016.

Hampton, Virignia

As a member of the 2013 Aeronautics Academy, I worked with eleven other students on a project to develop next generation aircraft technology. Our team was tasked to design, build and test a continuous trailing edge control surface in the 12-Foot Low-Speed Tunnel. Part of my responsibilities included assisting in the design and fabrication of one of the candidate designs. I also lead the development of a theoretical model to predict aerodynamic loading on the wing based on the configuration of the control surface deflections.

Lexington, Ohio

As an intern in the Advanced Development Department, I administered tests and analyzed data in support of an emissions sensor being developed. Self-taught in Labview, I wrote controls to automate a test specification for a solenoid valve which freed 90 hours of technician time per test run. Additionally, I worked on a team of three interns to design a thermal shock test setup to mimic part failure observed in the field.
