Supporting DWP to move off their legacy VME estate.An exciting challenge transforming the legacy VME estate through re-platforming to a Micro Focus and Oracle platform or re-engineering to a Java and Oracle platform whilst at the same time moving to new private cloud hosted environments and a new operate model.Some of these systems are 40 years old, still delivering high volume transactions and are highly resiliant delivering critical services processing approximately £150billion per annum.

Working client side delivering varied & interesting projects into a financial services client in a regulatory environment.

Accountable for the delivery of a multi million pound work programme implementing SOA services enabling the integration of assets across a complex IT estate.This involved transitioning the development and support services to a new supplier, implementing a governance model that supports future reuse of services and ease of implementing new services. The solution was based upon IBM WebSphere DataPower appliances with data transformation through Informatica PowerCenter and PowerExchange.

Working with the Getronics New Business Development Team to secure a large programme of work across multiple technology workstreams for a highly prestigous global travel brand and an international Health organisation.

Working Age to Pension Age Transformation Programme - Responsible for the delivery of the Working Age to Pension Age transformation initiative through the DWP Application Delivery Centre.This is an initiative to transform the way in which the department manages the transition of working age citizens approaching pension age. It has been deemed to be of strategic importance to the government in meeting its election promises and as such its performance and KPIs are reported upon direct to both Cabinet Office and the Prime Ministers office.The deliverables include; standing up new infrastructure (virtual and application specific) across co-located data centres, the deployment and integration of multiple technology solutions from Microsoft, Red Hat Linux, Oracle, Informatica, IBM ILOG, WebSphere and Seagull LegaSuite along with onshore / offshore / best shore application development, integration and testing across multiple technology integration suppliers including HP Enterprise Services, Microsoft, Accenture, Atos Origin and BT.A combination of RAD / JAD development techniques along with a focused governance approach has ensured that multiple releases across a 30 month delivery plan has been developed, approved and implemented whilst ensuring the Pensions, Disability and Carers Service is able to maximise its return on investment.Feedback from the DWP during a contract performance review included the comment "7 star service with a score of excellent across all indicators' including customer engagement and stakeholder management.

In-Sourcing Transition, an initiative spanning Adult Social Care, Local Authorities and the NHS, the council’s services had been outsourced for the previous 7 years. The requirement was to undertake a gap analysis of existing hardware, software, in-flight support contracts and to work with the legal team to ensure all contracts and support agreements were novated to the council. The activities were a resounding success with no outage experienced by end users.Adult Social Services, Delivery of an integrated Electronic Care Assessment Framework in partnership with the NHS and 7 Acute Trusts.Reporting to the Project Partnership Board, working with the end user customers and 3rd party suppliersEnsured that Project Board approval (to initial costs and targets) was obtained on all key stages up to delivery prior to handing the project over to a permanent project managerLinked with NHS Lorenzo via a standardised eCAF messaging layerSecurely integrated care and assessment records across a partnership of 7 organisations comprising of Local Authority Social Services departments, PCTs and Acute TrustsDelivery of a data warehouse and web application that securely integrated the NHS Programme for IT (NPfIT) with a number of secure cross Government networks including N3, GSI and GCSx with access control implemented via two-factor authentication.

Group Records Management Programme - The objective set by the programme was to consolidate the number of global data feeds being maintained within the Banks core data warehouse and to ensure records management and retention policies achieved compliance with; the group business needs, TNA 2002 standards and US DoD 5015 standards.Project Manager reporting into the EMEA Programme Manager for the full project lifecycle. Completed the initial analysis and risk profiling of the global core feeds, production of the business case justification for the programme and then delivered the core feeds consolidation for the UK, France, Switzerland, Italy and African work streams. Subsequently produced a feasibility study and delivered a proof of concept to implement a federated records management solution based upon an IBM DB2 and WebSphere IICE infrastructure on AIX Unix.Sanctions - This was a programme of highly sensitive and confidential work streams supporting the business across the full breadth of its domestic and international business units in relation to anti-money laundering and terrorist funding. The projects are classified as a ‘Control Issue of Group Level Significance’ with a financial impact in excess of £150m.Whilst taking the lead Project Management role on the Group Records Management Programme, I supported the sanctions programme by concurrently running a number of the work streams for this programme.
