About Markus Averstad

Hello! I've been a programmer for about 11 years now, so I figured it's about time I wrote down a little summary about myself. I live just south of Stockholm with my girlfriend and my son. When I have some free time I like to play some video games or create something. I also recently picked up playing electric guitar which is very rewarding.Now, as far as my career goes I've been to many different industries. I started out my journey at the Swedish Postcode Lottery where I got to put my Java skills to use working as a fullstack developer, but leaning towards the frontend even then. I then moved on to try my hand at consulting through Avega, where I found my interest in Javascript. This then opened up doors to working with great companies such as ICA, Handelsbanken, Nordea and others where I worked on both web shops and internal systems. I now work full time as a frontend developer, preferring to use React.js as the core of my tech stack.
