About Markus Bichler

Adventure is in my DNA. Testing limits, I’ve always been one to push boundaries, co-founding a business at age 20 and another at 24. Taking two related concepts – travel and learning – I have created businesses that help others to grow. I thrive on the highs and lows of fast-paced business landscapes where the opportunity to ‘match’ dynamically shifting customer needs and product opportunity grows more of a challenge, every day. Of note is my role in growing successful, scalable business, Travelmania, over the last decade. Partnering with some of Europe’s largest government organisations, educational providers, NGOs and Fortune 500 companies as an expert on EdTech and funding mechanics, we have developed market leading travel and learning products underpinned by great technology, creating meaningful and possibly life changing experiences for our customers. Two key learnings have defined who I am, and how I lead. Firstly, I only build and sell products that I believe in, and that add genuine value. And by extension, I build teams centred around that same passion and mission. I have invested in weaving this value-set into the fabric of the organisation, co-creating an innovative and vibrant ‘challenger’ team and culture that lives and breathes the belief that we can make the world a better place.

    Co-founding Travelmania, I led the business through a series of exciting ideas and opportunities in the travel and education space, and over three years, built a multimillion-dollar revenue line from the ground up. A challenging start-up role with both wins and misses, I engaged a workforce of volunteer students on the path to growth through the creation of a safe environment for personal innovation, mistake-making and ultimately, growth.
