Analyzed emissions and supported technicians in emissions measurements/instrumentation. Calculated and analyzed gland seal leakage and extraction steam flow rates for the steam turbines. Developed advanced viscosity experiments to predict the viscosity of the emulsified fuel used at the power plant. Key Achievements:- Completed an MSc. In Chemical Engineering while maintaining fulltime job responsibilities at NB Power.- Completed analysis of various aspects of the plant operations and proposed cost saving measures that provided a return on the company’s investment in sponsoring a graduate student.- Developed new tools for thermal and fluid cycle efficiency analysis.- Developed an improved method for viscosity measurements for the emulsion fuels used at the power plant.- Taught the Thermodynamic and Fluid Mechanic tutorial classes for second year Mechanical and Chemical Engineering students.
