Acting nurse manager overseeing HITH, ambulatory care, chronic pain and admin services in leave relief capacity.

Reporting to the Company Directors, I was responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Hospital in the Home, homecare and telehealth services, managers, and clinical/care staff. This included maintaining the highest clinical standards, implementing sound staff capability strategies, and quality improvement initiatives in a commercial environment.

Independent proceduralist for insertion of central venous access devices and clinical lead on acute pain/parenteral nutrition management as part of a collaborative service with anaesthetics and ICU.Improving quality standards through clinical audit, monitoring of outcomes, and organization-wide improvement initiatives. Development of policies & procedures, novel research initiatives, and lead coordinator of vascular access skills workshops for nursing, allied health and medical staff. Root cause analysis team leader and keen interest in patient outcomes.

General surgical/medical, neuro, trauma and cardiothoracic, heart & lung transplant intensive care nursing. Team leader on hospital resuscitation team.

International, medical repatriation nurse. Fixed wing commercial and air ambulance work. Completed over 300 international patient repatriations during this time.

Case manager for international medical assistance company, providing remote response, repatriation planning and co-ordination. Personally responsible for international repatriation of patients via fixed wing commercial flights and air ambulance.

Cardiothoracic intensive care nurse. Developed critical care nursing skills, postgraduate ICU nursing qualifications and shift leader responsibilities. Adopted vascular access skills with ultrasound and insertion of PICC lines on the ICU.

As a 'Hospital at Night' team member, I support after-hours medical staff by managing patient flow through tasks like IV cannulation, blood sampling, 12-lead ECGs, and blood result follow-ups in the emergency department and inpatient wards at two hospital locations. Studying nursing degree at Glasgow University simultaneously.
