•Maintains mandatory records, documents, and logs appropriately and accurately as described in USP 797/800 and CAVHS standard operating procedures.•Passes initial and annual gloved fingertip testing and media fill testing.•Maintains clean room environmental logs and ensures cleaning schedules are met.•Performs maintenance and all daily and monthly cleaning activities required by USP 797, VHA Directive 1108.12, and CAVHS standard operating procedures.•Ensures medications, including chemotherapy agents, hazardous drugs, IV Room supplies, and solutions are stored, maintained, and handled appropriately according to CAVHS standard operating procedures.•Handles hazardous waste appropriately including the use of personal protective equipment if necessary, according to standard operating procedures.•Performs accurate product selection, dosage calculations, and compounds agents utilizing package insert literature, written procedural guidelines, and other appropriate resources.•Uses aseptic technique to compound various parenteral admixtures in the form of large volume or small volume infusions, syringes, or other modalities as required.•Inspects the final CSP for accuracy, suitability, and elegance, labels the product, and maintains records of the compounding process.•Generates proper product identification labels and assigns accurate stability and handling information. •Labeling includes appropriate auxiliary information to ensure safety and efficacy to other handlers of the preparation. Accurately documents all anticipatory compounding.•Contacts the assigned pharmacist for a calculation check and final check in a timely manner.•Operates and maintains pharmacy equipment (Laminar Airflow Workbench, biological safety cabinets, automated compounding machines, IVX equipment, IV Robot).

•Verify that customers receive correct prescriptions.•Help pharmacists prepare prescriptions by counting or pouring medication, labeling containers, and pricing prescriptions.•Mix oral pharmaceutical preparations.•Answer telephone and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist's judgment.•Train and advise others in the operations of Intercom Plus, SIMS, Point of Sale and other Pharmacy Systems.•Assists in various projects and promotions to increase sales and maximize profit.•Maintains good pharmacy department appearance (inside and outside) and insures proper mylaring and signage.•Actively promotes generic dispensing, email registrations, and any other company programs.•Knowledgeable in federal and state regulations and assists the pharmacists to maximum extent allowed by law.•Fully proficient in handling all third party claims, workers compensation, and reject corrections and collections.

•Utilize CHCS system.•Receive written prescriptions or refills request and verify that information is complete and accurate.•Establish and maintain patient profiles, including list of medications taken by individual patients.•Answer telephone, responding to questions or request.•Pre-pack bulk medicines, fill bottles with prescribed medications, and type and affix labels.•Clean, and help maintain, equipment and work areas, and sterilize glassware according to prescribed methods.•Assure safe handling procedures for hazardous drugs.
