As the VENUS Observatory Data Specialist, I work to assure VENUS users that the quality of scientific data being collected and disseminated is reliable and of the highest possible standard. I am responsible for developing and maintaining real-time/delayed data assessment models that adhere to and contribute to international standards for ocean observing systems. In addition to providing well-documented, qualified data to the oceanographic research community, I develop software to create and/or enhance data products, design/develop metadata output for all data products and participate in bi-annual maintenance cruises.Associated Fieldwork:* Biannual maintenance cruises since April 2010 aboard CCGS Tully/R/V Thompson. 5-7 days each.

* Developed global inorganic carbon and alkalinity climatological model using regression techniques. * Analyzed the strain relaxation of dilute GaNAs/GaAs and InGaNAs/GaAs layers using High Resolution X-Ray Diffraction techniques such as reciprocal space mapping and rocking curve analysis. * Created SOP for using the diffractometer to capture reciprocal space maps.
