Ocean Networks Canada monitors the east and west coasts of Canada and the Arctic, collecting real-time, open data that deliver solutions for science, society, and industry. bit.ly/m/Ocean-Networks-Canada Long-term continuous scientific data from the ocean environment are gathered by ONC and made available for free through Oceans 3.0 - our powerful online data management system. The science enabled by ONC includes understanding human-induced changed, life in diverse environments, interconnections among the seafloor, ocean and atmosphere and seafloor and sediment in motion. ONC is also developing an earthquake early warning system for the Government of British Columbia. Ocean Networks Canada is an initiative of the University of Victoria, funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation, Government of Canada, Government of British Columbia, CANARIE, and IBM Canada.
