Working in a highly creative atmosphere where problem-solving, individually and in a team, is the norm I find highly satisfying. My background can attest to this. On numerous occasions, I have worked in Kaizen events creating innovations to streamline fabrication processes. Also, I have won multiple awards in 5S competitions. While I enjoy working in a collaborative setting, often it is while working individually on mundane tasks that produce the majority of my ideas. With time to reflect, inspiration taps me on the shoulder, and my creative process begins.Trained in the United States Airforce in graphic design, I can produce conceptual drawings used by engineers and programmers. I design in 3D. With my extensive experience in fabrication and machining, I can visualize and compensate for tool pathing and other fabrication issues. While I have a strong background in graphic design and related fields, the majority of my CAD experience is specific to managing a sign fabrication shop using Casemate Pro. I have limited knowledge of Auto CAD. However, the ability to produce accurate technical drawings on the fly has proven valuable.My Machinist career started as a hobby while pursuing bladesmithing. Taking machining a step farther, I worked as a CNC operator for nine years at Pexco Aerospace. The majority of materials I have worked with include plastics, composites, and aluminum. However, through various personal projects (including light foundry work and casting), I have experience working with different types of metal. I am always inventing and creating. Recent projects include thermo-forming plastic for martial arts training equipment, designed and built a trip-hammer for blacksmithing, forging a Damascus sword, and creating camp and hunting knives.
